On 24 September every year all South Africans will sit around the same fire. Join us in National Braai Day - a celebration of our great country and its unique national pastime.

National Braai Day will allow us to get together, burn the past and cook up a succulent future. Braaing unites us all in a common purpose and transcends racial, social, cultural and language barriers. There’s really no excuse not to gather your family and friends and whip up feast – even though we cant be there it’s an ideal time to get together with your UK friends, phone loved ones at home and just enjoy being South. You can be sure your friends and loved ones will be doing the same thing, wherever they are in South Africa. It’s a public holiday over there and the official start of summer.
